For this weeks brief update on viral phenomenon, I’d like to revisit a personal favorite:
Ridiculously Photogenic Series
From this original image, a cropped version began to circulate across the internet with funny sayings such as:
The man in the image, Zeddie Little, was simply running in the March 31, 2012 Cooper River Bridge Run in South Carolina when his picture was taken and uploaded to the web and submitted to Reddit. After taking off, a ‘ridiculously photogenic’ series was born. Before long there was a ridiculously photogenic woman, who had just undergone surgery and lost 60% of her lung, and was hence named “Ridiculously Photogenic Surgery Girl“. Apparently, the girl was having difficulty sleeping, and posted images of herself to Reddit on May 17, 2012, causing a mass response and creation of a new meme.
On June 6, 2012 a ridiculously photogenic concert-goer was dubbed “Ridiculously Photogenic Metalhead” and joined the ‘ridiculously photogenic’ family of memes after being photographed at a concert in Bucharest, Romania
Which ridiculously good-looking person will join the series next?
Let me know in the comments!
So recently women’s health have been the subject of a number of different news stories. Between Rep. Todd Akin’s bold ‘legitimate rape’ statements, the recent findings indicating that older women are not solely to blame for children born with autism, and a much talked-about ‘war on women’ in politics, I felt it only topical and appropriate for a topical ‘threatdown‘ a la Colbert Report.
I want to apologize firstly by how long it took me to decide on a viral topic of the day (it was a close one guys). However I have finally decided upon a viral phenomenon that is massively intellectually stimulating:
I was going to write a serious post about what Social Media managers do, but essentially, we really only do these things:
- Produce content
- Manage content
- Circulate/Recirculate content
- Protect content
- Crisis control
Bam, everything you ever needed to know about a Social Media Manager, and you didn’t even need to scroll down.
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July, unless you live in San Diego,in which case I’m sorry.
